I am new to cooking in a crock-pot, but I like the simplicity of the whole process. Dump in some ingredients, turn it on, eat it when I get home from the gym. This recipe came from one of my personal training clients at Momentum Fitness. I overcooked it a bit the first time around, but I still thought it was delicious! Hope you enjoy it too.
Crock-Pot Ginger Chicken
Ingredients:
1. 4-6 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
2. 1 Jar Ginger Preserves (you can get this at Shaws for sure)
Place Chicken and Preserves in crock-pot. (I added a little water too.) (My client suggests adding chopped onion to the bottom of the pot first.) Turn crock-pot on low and cook for 6 hours or so.
I would simply serve this with a salad, and call it a meal.
Brains and Brawn

Phys Ed: Brains and Brawn
By GRETCHEN REYNOLDS in the NY Times
It has long been a cliché that muscle bulk doesn’t equate to intelligence. In fact, most of the science to date about activity and brain health has focused on the role of endurance exercise in improving our brain functioning. Aerobic exercise causes a steep spike in blood movement to the brain, an action that some researchers have speculated might be necessary for the creation of new brain cells, or neurogenesis. Running and other forms of aerobic exercise have been shown, in mice and men, to lead to neurogenesis in those portions of the brain associated with memory and thinking, providing another compelling reason to get out at lunchtime and run.
